B’liev brand manual copy and product descriptions

One of my favourite brand-related projects so far was getting to work with an incredible Brand Designer on a brand manual for health-first, vegan protein drink brand, B’liev.

I was enlisted to help said Brand Designer (John) put his creative direction into words, writing the copy for B’liev’s brand guidelines.

Yikes, how many times can you say ‘brand’ in two short paragraphs?

A huge focus for the document was to articulate B’liev’s five brand (last one, promise) pillars:

  • Innovation

  • Courage

  • Disruption

  • Possibility

  • Collaboration

Taking verbal briefs and collating a whole heap of helpful notes from John and B’liev Founder, Aria, here’s what I came up with:

Setting the scene with storytelling

B’liev’s brand manual also features a segment from Founder Aria, ghostwritten by me, to introduce a strong storytelling element, along with product context and information about the recipes’ clean, conscious ingredient profiles.

Plant-based product descriptions

Once the brand guidelines were locked down and immortalised into a compressed PDF, the web copy was a go. I swooped back in to help write on-page product descriptions for each of the protein shake flavours available on B’liev’s ecommerce site.

My two favourite lines (if I do say so myself):

  • ‘Brownie in a bottle? Yes, please!’

  • ‘All of the bakery, none of the fakery.’

Need some help finetuning and amplifying your own brand voice? Wondering how to turn your TOV into punchy copy that sells? I can help you out.
